A methyl group has the shape of a four-sided pyramid with a carbon atom in the center and three hydrogen atoms in the corners. The atom to which the methyl group combines holds the fourth corner.   The action of Heart Gems is driven by the nutrient TMG (trimethylglycine), which provides methyl groups to detoxify homocysteine.
